These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the DECADES application, website and related services (the "Service"), operated by Aevest Studio, an independent developer based in Malaysia ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
DECADES is a financial-literacy life-simulation game. It lets you play through a fictional life, making simulated decisions about income, spending, borrowing, saving, investing, insurance, property, business and the wider economy. All companies, securities, financial instruments, brands, people, events, news stories, market data and other entities depicted in DECADES are fictional unless expressly stated otherwise. Any resemblance to actual persons, companies, securities, brands or events is coincidental or used for parody, commentary or illustrative purposes, and implies no affiliation, endorsement or representation. Some optional scenarios are deliberately fantastical and are clearly labelled in the game; they are fiction, not depictions of real opportunities or activities. Simulated prices, wages, interest rates, returns, credit scores, booms, recessions and other values are simplified, partly random and may differ greatly from real-world conditions. DECADES does not simulate or facilitate real-world financial transactions, investments, deposits, loans, insurance policies or other financial services. DECADES is not a bank, broker, lender, adviser or payment service, and nothing in it is an offer to buy or sell any real financial product.
The Service is provided for entertainment and general education. Nothing in it is financial, investment, tax, legal, credit, insurance or accounting advice, and nothing in it recommends buying or selling any real financial product. Simulated prices, interest rates, returns, credit scores and economic events are fictional and simplified and may differ greatly from real markets. Do not rely on the Service when making real financial decisions; consult a licensed professional.
You may use the Service if you are old enough to do so lawfully where you live. If you are a minor, you may use the Service only with a parent's or guardian's consent where the law requires it. The Service is not intended for children under 13.
The Service does not require or provide user accounts or passwords. Your progress is stored on your device (see the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for your device and for anyone you allow to use it.
All money, assets, shares, businesses, items, achievements and gameplay rewards inside the game are virtual. This includes anything earned by placing on a leaderboard, such as an extra rewind, an extra Life or a look at where a simulated share price is heading. Virtual items have no real-world value, are not legal tender, are not financial assets, deposits or investments, cannot be redeemed, transferred, sold or exchanged for real money or anything of value, represent no ownership of any real company, security or property, and may be changed, rebalanced or removed by game updates. Free play uses a pool of Lives shown in the game: one regenerates on a timer up to a cap, the first daily-seed run each day is free, and starting other new lives spends one. Lives are virtual items, have no monetary value, and their regeneration rate, cap and costs may be rebalanced. A paid tier may remove the limit.
The Service may offer online leaderboards. There are currently two, and they are kept separate: a daily board, where every player is given the same simulated life once a day and each day's score is added to a running total for that calendar week (Monday to Sunday, UTC), after which the table closes and a new week begins; and a board for randomly seeded lives, which keeps only your single best life of that same calendar week. A life played on a seed you typed in yourself is practice and is not submitted to either. Finishing a qualifying life may submit your chosen display name, character, score, simulated net worth, age and cause of death for other players to see. Nothing else is submitted, and no account is required. Placing near the top of a board may award a virtual gameplay reward for a later life, subject to limits shown in the game; weekly prizes are based on the final standings when the week closes and are delivered the next time the game is opened. Those rewards are virtual items under section 5 and may be changed or withdrawn. You are responsible for the display name you choose. Do not use names that are offensive, hateful, discriminatory or sexually explicit, that impersonate a real person or brand, or that contain personal information (yours or anyone else's). We may remove or alter any name and any record without notice, and may block a player identifier for repeated abuse. Other players can report a name from the leaderboard screen; we review reports and act on them. We may also reset a board where it is necessary for fairness, technical or legal reasons.
You must not: break any law while using the Service; interfere with, overload or attack the Service or its servers; submit false, manipulated or automated scores; use bots, cheats or modified clients to gain an advantage; attempt to bypass purchase checks; reverse-engineer, decompile or extract the Service's code or assets except where the law expressly allows; or use the Service's artwork, sound, music, text or data to train machine-learning systems or to build a competing product.
The Service, including its software, game design, scenarios, glossary, artwork, characters, animations, sounds, music, logos and names, is owned by or licensed to Aevest Studio and protected by copyright and other laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play the Service for private, non-commercial purposes. All other rights are reserved. Streaming, reviewing or sharing screenshots of your own gameplay is permitted and welcome.
We take intellectual-property rights seriously and use only original or licensed material. If you believe material available through the Service infringes your copyright, please email hello@aevest.net with: (a) the material in question and where it appears; (b) the copyrighted work you own and proof of ownership or authority; (c) your name and contact details; (d) a statement, made in good faith, that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law, and that your notice is accurate; and (e) your physical or electronic signature. We acknowledge notices within 7 days, investigate, and remove or change material that we determine infringes. If material you are responsible for is removed and you believe the removal was mistaken, a counter-notice with the same details may be sent to the same address; we may forward notices to the other party where the law allows. Trademark or other intellectual-property complaints may also be submitted to the same address with enough information for us to investigate.
The Service relies on third-party services to work: Google Play for distribution and in-app purchases (Google Play Billing), and Cloudflare for hosting and the leaderboard server. Your use of features provided through these services is also subject to their own terms and policies. Advertisements are supplied by Google AdSense (H5 Games Ads), see section 12. We do not use analytics services, social sign-in or crash-reporting services. If we introduce material changes to these services, we will update these Terms and our Privacy Policy as appropriate, before or when those changes take effect, where required by applicable law.
The free version of the Service displays advertisements supplied by Google AdSense (H5 Games Ads). DECADES Plus removes all advertisements. Advertisements may include interstitial formats shown between lives or at other natural breaks, and optional rewarded formats that you may choose to watch in exchange for a virtual gameplay reward. We will not knowingly interrupt an unresolved decision, a purchase or an end-of-life summary with an advertisement. Availability varies by country, device and advertising inventory, and an advertisement may not always be available. A reward is granted only after the advertising provider confirms the required interaction; attempting to falsify or automate that confirmation is a breach of section 8 (acceptable use). Rewards obtained this way are virtual items under section 5. We do not endorse products advertised through third-party networks.
We may update, change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, including for security, legal, technical, balancing or business reasons. Updates may change gameplay, values and content. We will try to give reasonable notice of material changes through the app or the website.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, availability, accuracy of simulated information, or that saved progress will never be lost. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that the law does not allow to be excluded.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aevest Studio will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive loss, or for any loss of data, profits or savings, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including any real financial decision you make after playing. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Aevest Studio against claims and costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your unlawful use of the Service, or a display name or content you submit.
We may suspend or end your access to the online features if you breach these Terms or create legal, security or operational risk. You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling it. Sections 2, 5, 9, 10, 14, 15, 16 and 18 survive termination.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Disputes will be handled in the courts of Malaysia, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
We may revise these Terms; the dates above change when we do, and material changes will be announced in the app or on the website. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms.
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of it.
