DECADES is a free money life simulator made in Malaysia by Aevest Studio. You start at 18 with a hand you did not choose: a family that is struggling or comfortable, a hometown, brothers and sisters, and the years you happen to grow up in. From there you live one month at a time into old age, and every few months life hands you a card with a real decision on it.
Tap to live a month, or let several months pass at once. Each month your pay comes in, rent and bills go out, and whatever is left is yours to save, spend or put to work. When a card arrives, read it and pick one of its choices. A card might be your first payslip, a buy now pay later offer at the checkout, a cousin who needs a guarantor, a medical bill, an aunt who sells insurance, or an offer from an ah long the night before rent is due. After you choose, the card shows what happened and the one line worth remembering.
Along the way you decide whether to study first, on a PTPTN loan or a diploma, or start working at 18. You can apply for jobs, borrow at the bank, buy up to six homes and rent them out, open a small business from a list of ideas, and buy shares in invented companies whose prices rise and crash. Your health, stress and joy matter as much as your bank balance. A life that never rests or never sees a doctor tends to end early.
Easy leans the odds your way, so good things happen a little more often. Realistic plays the odds straight. Hard leans them against you, the way a bad decade can. The level changes how often good and bad cards land, not the rules of money.
When a life ends, you get a grade from S to D and a Life Sign, a short reading of how you lived. The score adds up the choices you made and what you own, and counts what you owe against you. It is then weighted by the hand you were dealt and the level you chose, so a careful life that started with little can beat a careless one that started rich. Getting rich is not the point. Playing your hand well is.
Real Malaysian money words, explained in the moment you need them: EPF, PTPTN, SOCSO, takaful, BNPL, credit cards and their minimum payments, hire purchase, AKPK and licensed moneylenders. Every company, person and price in the game is invented, and nothing in it is financial advice. The words and rules behind the cards are real, and we check them against the official sources.
Play a random life, or the daily life that everyone gets on the same day, and see how your results compare on the weekly board. Teachers can open a class so students play the same life and the teacher sees each final ledger. On a computer or an iPhone the browser plays the whole life. On an Android phone the browser version ends at age 30, and the Android app plays the whole life.
