Aevest Studio. Small games, big decisions.
Aevest Studio (say it "ay-vest") is an independent game studio founded in 2026. We make small games about money, time, family and luck: the things nobody teaches and everybody pays for. Our games are DECADES, a money life story, and Spellnest, a daily word puzzle.
What we make, and why
We make games that teach money through play. In DECADES you live one whole life, one month at a time, and every card is a money decision with a result you can see: a loan that keeps growing, savings that compound, a bill that lands in a bad month. In Spellnest you solve a daily crossword, and every puzzle hides one money word with a plain meaning and a tip.
Why games? Most people learn about money the expensive way, after the form is signed. A game lets you sign it, live with it for a few years and start again, in an afternoon and without losing any real money.
The cards come from the money moments young adults really meet: the first payslip and what comes off it, a study loan, a retirement fund you cannot touch until 55, rent, insurance, pay later offers and the loan shark who needs no paperwork. Where a card rests on a real rule, the rule comes from the official body that runs it, such as EPF (KWSP), PTPTN, SOCSO, AKPK or Bank Negara.
What we believe
Learn by living it
A lecture is forgotten by dinner. A life you lived, lost and lived again is remembered. Our games make you answer the question instead of reading about it.
Plain words
No jargon without a one-line meaning beside it. If someone's grandmother would not say it, we rewrite it.
Honest by design
Every company, person and price is invented. The lessons are real; nothing is financial advice.
No accounts
No sign-up and no data brokers. Saves live on your own device, and each game's privacy page says exactly what leaves it.
How we keep it honest
- Fiction on purpose. Every company, person and price in our games is invented. DECADES says so on its start screen: a work of fiction, not financial advice.
- No advice. The games teach how money works. Nothing in them is advice about your own money, which depends on your own situation and on the rules of the day.
- Real rules, simple numbers. A whole life has to fit on a phone, so the numbers are rounded and simplified. For the current figures, go to the official body: EPF (KWSP) for retirement savings, PTPTN for study loans, SOCSO for work injury cover, AKPK for free debt counselling and Bank Negara for banks and scam alerts.
- Tell us when we are wrong. If a card gets a rule wrong or a number has gone out of date, write to hello@aevest.net with the game and the card's title.
How we write and check
The posts on our blog are written by the studio, in Malaysia. Each one explains a real money rule and the DECADES cards where you meet it.
- Official sources first. Every rule in a post comes from the body that runs it, such as Bank Negara, EPF (KWSP), PTPTN, SOCSO or AKPK, and the post links to that page or document so you can read it yourself.
- We redo the sums. Worked examples, like how long a card balance takes to clear, are recomputed before a post goes up, and checked against the official tables where they exist.
- Dated, and updated. Each post shows the day it was written. When a rule changes, we update the post and show the date it changed.
- Not advice. The posts explain how the rules work in general. They are not advice about your own money.
